A family affair

Some 15 years ago Mr and Mrs M were looking to invest their redundancy monies into a small business. We were able to identify a suitable freehold newsagent and convenience store which they subsequently purchased.

After 10 years of successful trade, they contacted us and we discussed the possibility of selling the business on a lease and creating an investment for their later life. We successfully sourced a purchaser who acquired the business on a lease, creating in turn a healthy investment for Mr and Mrs M.

Three years henceforth, we were then contacted by their daughter who ran a successful convenience store on the other side of the county. Once again we were able to offer advice in respect of the leasehold disposal and subsequently, after a 3 month period of marketing, negotiated a satisfactory sale to a local family. During the course of the leasehold transaction references were obtained, landlord’s approval sought and a satisfactory conclusion was reached including the valuation of stock and National Lottery transfer.

This is a typical scenario of a family recommendation that we have built our reputation on. Our extensive knowledge of business sales ranges from stable manufacturing businesses to motor vehicle body repair shops and everything in between. Our valuation service has also been used in matrimonial disputes, partnership dissolutions and by accountants for limited company incorporation valuations.
